Pressure care assessments and advice

Pressure injuries, which are sometimes referred to as bedsores or pressure ulcers, can significantly impact an individual’s quality of life, particularly for those with mobility issues, disabilities or injuries. These injuries are not only painful but can also lead to serious complications if not managed properly.

Pressure care assessment - what to expect

Initial consultation
We review your medical history, current health status and daily routines. We take time to understand your lifestyle, concerns and mobility challenges.
1
Skin and risk assessment
A thorough examination of the affected area is undertaken and documented in addition to the use of evidence-based tools to assess the pressure injury and/or risk levels.
2
Pressure mapping technology
Pressure mapping helps visually detect high-risk zones. Real-time data guides targeted, effective care strategies.
3
Equipment and positioning review
Assessment of current support surfaces e.g. mattresses, cushions, is conducted with subsequent recommendations for pressure-relieving equipment and optimal positioning strategies to assist with pressure injury healing or reducing the risk of pressure injuries.
4
Personalised care plan
A customised care plan with specific recommendations is then compiled to prevent and manage pressure injuries as well as education on best practices and positioning for affected individuals and those supporting them.
